A lot of people don’t realize the important of good dental hygiene when it comes to dog. Just like humans, beagles’ teeth can build up plaque after eating. This plaque keeps building up if the beagle dog teeth are not cleaned and can turn into tarter which is a coarse brown substance. Tar can build up over time and get in under the beagle dogs gums which can cause painful infections for your beagle dog. So it’s not just people who suffer from gum disease and infections but beagle dogs as well. People however, brush their teeth two to three times a day but beagle dogs do not.
Brushing Beagle Dog Teeth
Most the vets advise dog owners to brush their beagles teeth at least couple of times a week. Brushing beagles’ teeth twice a week will keep the tartar buildup at minimum. You can buy a special toothbrush and toothpaste which is made especially for dogs. Do not attempt to brush your beagles’ teeth with human tooth paste. The dog tooth paste is designed especially to satisfy your dogs’ taste buds to make the teeth brushing a lot easier.
Beagle Dental Chew
It’s not always easy to get your beagle to let you brush his or her teeth. Sometimes your beagle will try to eat the toothpaste. If you can’t manage to brush your beagles teeth or simply don’t have the time and patients to sit there and brush your dogs teeth while he or she tries to lick off the toothpaste then you can try the dental chews. These dental chews will break down when chewed and will rub against your beagles’ teeth cleaning off plaque and tarter. It’s still not as effecting as brushing your beagles’ teeth but dental chews is a good alternative if you can’t brush his or her teeth.
Beagle Dentist
Dogs also have dentists just like humans do. So if your dog has a cavity or one of the tooth bother your beagle then you can always bring him or her to the dentist to get the tooth problem fixed. If you properly take care of your beagle dogs’ teeth then you shouldn’t have any problems. A visit to the dentist with your beagle can be costly so try to avoid it by taking care of your beagle’s teeth.
