how to train a beagle dog
by edwick

Question by country girl: How to train beagle dog to not jump?
I have a 2 year old beagle dog and I want to train him not to jump on people when they come to my house. He knows all the commands like sit and stay but when someone other than my parents or myself are at my house he gets overly excited, he is a cocker spainel so he “happy pees” when he meets someone new, I would just like to teach him how to be a Good Boy around new people. Any suggestions?

Instead of pushing him away put your knee up when he jumps and say down. When you push him, he sees this as attention.

Simple Things That You Can Do To Take Care Of Your Dog’s Teeth

Plaque builds up in your beagle dog’s teeth just like they do in your own. You, however, brush your teeth at least twice a day, whereas your beagle dog does not. When plaque has been present in their teeth for a long period of time, they start to turn into tartar and tartar could pose some health risk for your beagle dog. As it increases, it can go deep under your beagle dog’s gums and can carry with them some harmful bacteria which could destroy your beagle dog’s gums or bring them some disease. So what are the necessary steps for beagle doggie mouth hygiene? They might seem so complicated, but they not. Here are some simple steps that you can take to better care for your beagle dog’s teeth.

* Brush you beagle dog’s teeth for at least twice a week. Avoid using your own personal toothpaste for your canine simply because they possess a good sense of taste. A tiny amount of that icy cool toothpaste is going to drive your beagle dog crazy and may cause them to be afraid of the teeth cleaning session. Use some specially made beagle dog toothpaste to do the job for you. They can be easily bought at your local pet store. Brushing will keep plaque in a minimum and it will also be a good bonding activity with your beagle dog.

* Feed your beagle dog some beagle dog biscuits. It is good for them. This crunchy stuff actually cleans your beagle dog’s teeth by rubbing against their teeth.

* Give them also some dental chews if you cannot brush their teeth regularly.

* Get some dentistry services for your beagle dog at your veterinarian’s clinic. Your beagle dog’s teeth can be cleaned, pulled, capped, or filled just like yours. They are quite expensive so if you would like to escape the cost, better start brushing their teeth on your own.

If you do not take care of your beagle dog’s teeth or they do not get any professional cleaning, chances are, they are going to develop mouth diseases. These could range from gingivitis, which makes the gums to appear red and swollen, to serious infection which could affect your beagle dog’s other internal organs. When these enter through the bloodstream, it may be quite difficult to treat them. You owe it to your beagle dog to take care of their dental health. They will only be of any good to you if you keep them in a strong and healthy condition.

The loving Bond could come between a person and a beagle dog can be extremely strong, especially if that bond had been growning living with each other for many years.  Dogs serve different needs for different people. Some people get a beagle dog because they are lonely and need a loyal friend. Some need a beagle dog to protect the house. A beagle beagles that is taken good care of and is given the attention it needs regularly will give his own life to help protect his home and his owner. For a blind person a beagle dog can be a pair of eyes to help them get here and there. For the police, a beagle dog can be a very important tool and a loyal partner, with a nose that nothing can beat.
The first thing you have to know about taking care of a beagle dog is that your beagle dog  will need alot of exercise. This applies for large beagle beagles and small beagle beagles. All beagle beagles need to be let out at least one or two times every 8 hours and should be walked for at least 20 minutes to give him some fresh air, exercise and to relieve themselves.
It is important to play with the beagle dog on a regularly. This could be anything from going to the park on a weekend or day off and having a game of fetch, throwing a ball around in your back yard or wrestling on the ground with the beagle dog, make sure if you are rough housing with a small beagle dog that you don’t accidentally hurt the beagle dog. Playing with your pooch for at least 30 minutes a day, is not only good for the beagle dog physically but a beagle dog that is played with  on a regular basis is also mentally healthier and much less  likely to become a depressed beagle dog, it will lower your blood pressure as well and it will form an powerful bond between you and your beagle dog, which could extend to your family if you start having one after having the beagle dog.

My favorite tool is my fingers. But I’ve get a short-haird, no undercoat beagle dog. I just take him outside and rub and rub and scratch and scratch until all his loose hair flies in the wind.

I do have a curry brush, but the fingers just work best.

taking care of your beagle dog
by Orloskaya

Question by Jessica: Does your beagle dog have favorite toys that they take special care of?
In other words, does your beagle dog have any favorites that they’re especially careful with? My beagle dog can be very rough with his toys but he has some stuffed animals that he’s very gentle with and actually lays them down on a pillow or underneath one of the throw pillows on the sofa before he switches to another one. Other toys, he’s very rough with so this is cute the way he takes care of some! Is your beagle dog real careful with certain toys?

Best answer:

Answer by Lilyanna
Ford is very careful with his babble ball. He is absolutely in love with that thing! He carries it everywhere he goes. He had a pentapull for the longest time, but he humped it so much I had to take it away from him. It got really gross! lol I bought him one of those tuffy’s toys a few months ago. They are supposed to be indestructible, but he manged to rip it up! lol I want to get him one of those Simply Fido organic toys because I think he misses having a soft buddy.
