Technically he is not a puppy anymore and I got him to sit a couple of times but yeah it is so damn hard especially since he likes sniffing random things and gets distracted easily. I tried showing him a treat, then pushing his butt down while saying sit. Then I praise and give him the treat. Our neighbors would sit on their steps and wait for me to come huffing and puffing to get him. Fortunately, time slowed him and between age and too many treats, I am happy to report he is a well trained beagle. Now, I am tormenting myself with a lab retriever. I have abandoned all hope!
