beagles dont get “trained”,they respond to food, try getting them to do tricks when there belly’s full is nigh on impossible,my beagle(cooper)usally just wants to sleep it off after a good feed, they’re stubborn, and proud to be stubborn

two weeks is too early. you shouldn’t even get a dog unless he is 8 weeks old. either way, you can start training them around 7 weeks at the earliest. there are some good sites just type in beagle rabbit running or beagle hunting training.

My beagle trained me…..I had to run and catch him when he found a scent that appealed to him. Our neighbors would sit on their steps and wait for me to come huffing and puffing to get him. Fortunately, time slowed him and between age and too many treats, I am happy to report he is a well trained beagle. Now, I am tormenting myself with a lab retriever. I have abandoned all hope!

we just got an already year old beagle and he wasn’t trained except to not poop on the floor and instead poop in the yard. Technically he is not a puppy anymore and I got him to sit a couple of times but yeah it is so damn hard especially since he likes sniffing random things and gets distracted easily. I tried showing him a treat, then pushing his butt down while saying sit. Then I praise and give him the treat. Sometimes he sits on his own but Idk if its just chance. damn its hard as hell.
